To provide a posture holding joint device by which a worker can surely hold a posture at an exact position, and a posture holding support device using the same.SOLUTION: This posture holding joint device for connecting one connecting member and the other connecting member to each other so as to be turntable, and setting both the members to working states that the members are held at arbitrary turning positions and release states that the members are freely turntable comprises: a working part 101 connected to one connecting member; a turning body 102 connected to the other connecting member; and a turning shaft part 104 for pivoting the turning body 102 to the working part 101 so as to be freely turntable. The working part 101 comprises a pressure-contact member 110 attached to an internal peripheral face of the turning body 102 so as to be contactable therewith, a working member for operating the pressure-contact member 110 so as to pressure-contact with the internal peripheral face of the turning body 102, and a drive part 112 for operating the working member 111 so as to be set to the working state by making the pressure-contact member 110 pressure-contact with the internal peripheral face of the turning body 102.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
