PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately determine and identify denomination and authenticity for a defective bill, a counterfeit bill using a defective bill, and a forged bill.SOLUTION: A paper sheet identification device for identifying paper sheets includes an authenticity sensor that detects authenticity determination information of paper sheets put thereinto, and a control unit that calculates the value of the paper sheets for each predetermined divided block on the basis of the authenticity determination information detected by the authenticity sensor and denomination information of the paper sheets.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
