PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floating body for a wave activated power generation apparatus capable of improving the power generation efficiency by regulating the oscillation cycle of the floating body with simple configuration and control.SOLUTION: A float 24 for a wave activated power generation apparatus is provided that comprises: a gear unit 34 for converting the oscillation of a float 24 into a torque; a dynamo 30 connected to the gear unit 34, for generating the electric power; and a flywheel unit 42 connected to the gear unit 34 and regulating the oscillation cycle of the float 24 by adding the moment of inertia to the float 24. The gear unit 34 comprises a speed-increasing gear for branching 40; and in the dynamo 30 and the flywheel unit 42, the flywheel unit 42 is provided on the rotation axis of the dynamo 30 via the speed-increasing gear for branching 40.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
