In the metathesis method and the direct method used in the production of cobalt soap, there are problems in the production cost, the quality such as the purity of the product, and the like. There was a problem that the cost was higher than that of cobalt soap. By using a rubber compounding softener, which is one of the rubber compounding agents, in the production of cobalt soap using a high softening point fatty acid, a direct method, which is an inexpensive reaction method, is used, and no organic solvent is used. In addition, high-purity cobalt soap can be easily produced in high yield. This primarily provides a reduction in manufacturing costs.
