For the metathesis method and the direct method used for the production of cobalt soap, problems exist in the quality of products, the purity of the product, etc. Particularly, the problem exists that the production of cobalt rosinate, which is important among cobalt soaps, results in high cost compared to other cobalt soaps. Cobalt soap can be obtained in high yield and high purity by the production with adopting the direct method which is the method for reaction in low cost, and without using an organic solvent, by using a softening agent for rubber blending which is one of rubber blending agents for the production of cobalt soap using a fatty acid having a high softening point.
