To provide a novel manufacturing method of lithium transition metal oxide with a layered rock-salt structure containing nickel.SOLUTION: There is provided a manufacturing method of lithium transition metal oxide with a layered rock-salt structure containing nickel, having a) a process for preparing transition metal hydroxide containing nickel, b) a process for heating the transition metal hydroxide to remove adhered water or making transition metal oxide, c) a process for coating the transition metal hydroxide from which the adhered water is removed or the transition metal oxide with a metal compound to prepare a coat body, and d) a process for mixing the coat body and lithium salt and burning them.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
