water-redispersible polymeric powder composition, methods for producing a water-redispersible polymeric powder composition, and for making a cement composition, and dry-mix formulation. redispersible polymeric powder compositions that include a polyglycol mixed with a redispersible polymeric powder (rdp), the powder of which includes a co-dried mixture of a carboxylated film-forming, water-insoluble polymer and a colloidal stabilizer, results in cement compositions having unexpectedly superior general bonding strength and adhesion after immersion in water. the use of polyglycol provides good working capacity or ease of tripping during application. in addition, the rdp composition, which includes rdp and polyglycol, provides the cement-based composition with excellent abrasion resistance, surface appearance, and color. furthermore, the rdp composition provides a reduction of at least 30%, for example, a 50% or more reduction in the amount of the retarding or retarding agent used in the dry mix formulation for cement compositions, such as compounds or self-leveling paving compositions; and cement-based tile adhesives.
