This invention provides a method to purify an anabaena variabilis with minimal accumulation of phenylalanine ammonium lysis (AvPAL) variant. The method includes the steps (a) of the bacterial cell solutionn containing the AvPAL variant homogenised to produce a cellular effluent (b) of the heating of the cell effluent in 65oC for 30 to 120 minutes (c) of its centrifugal Heated cell effluentwhere a supertext containing the AvPAL variant is retained (d) of the supertext filtration for sediment removal and (e) the separation of AvPAL variant of infectious proteins with sequential chromatography in an anion exchange column (AEL) followed by a hydrophobic interaction column (HIC)where the hijacking product from the HIC column contains the AvPAL variant,where the cysteine residues in points 503 and 565 of that AvPAL variant have been replaced by the serine residues (SEQ ID N:11).
