The invention provides a topical antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory wound healing coating composition comprising two biocompatible polymers A and B in the form of an interpenetrating network, the type A polymer is prepared by radical polymerization or polyaddition and comprises at least one type of tertiary amine-derived structural unit. Type B is prepared by radical polymerization or polyaddition and comprises at least one type of structural unit derived from sterically shielded amines.
