The invention relates to a folding device with a plurality of individually controllable length-wise folding stations (S1, S2) positioned next to each other in the direction between walls (W) of the device (1), such as for individual length-wise folding of respective linen sheets (L) introduced into the folding device (1) alongside each other between the walls (W), the length-wise folding station(s) (S1, S2) including at a movable blade (60) and an air blast nozzle, for forcing a portion of a linen sheet (L) into a corresponding one of said gaps (G1, G2), the controlling comprising activating the blade to move and/or said air blast nozzles (70) to provide an air blast.
