Eyeglass rating with respect to protection against uv hazard

An index value is calculated for rating an eyeglass (1) with respect to protection against UV hazard. Said index value is based on integrated UV transmission value through the eyeglass (1) and integrated UV reflection value related to a back face (1b) of the eyeglass (1). Thus, the index value takes into account actual wearing conditions where UV eye exposure is due either to transmission (T) through the eyeglass (1) or reflection (R) on the eyeglass back face (1b). Respective index values obtained for a set of eyeglasses (1) allow easy sorting of the eyeglasses (1) with respect to UV protection efficiency.
