SINGLE-USE PERFUSION CHAMBER FOR CELL AND TISSUE CULTURE AND BIOMATERIAL CHARACTERIZATION

Disclosed is a single-use perfusion chamber, easy to apply for cell and tissue culture and biomaterial characterization providing liquid flow directly through the sample as well as simplified sample placement and removal without the risk of damage. The chamber comprises two plastic parts as the chamber inlet and outlet, and a tubing made of flexible and biocompatible material (e.g. silicone tubing), which is fitted onto these two parts, thus creating a chamber within the tubing. One or more samples are placed inside the tubing so that the tubing walls adhere to the samples ensuring that the liquid flows directly through the samples. One unit provides possibilities for accommodation of samples of different diameters and heights. For fragile and brittle samples, which can be damaged during placement and removal, an insert can be put in the tubing, providing easier handling of such samples.
