The present invention relates to a method for modifying light and medium vehicles with Otto cycle engine and electronic petrol injection to run exclusively on natural gas, dismantling and replacing the main components of the various systems that enable the optimal functioning of the engine running exclusively on natural gas (VNG), also allowing the user to view the status of same (fuel level, VNG anomaly indicator light) using the original instruments of the vehicle. The invention also discloses the technical features of a vehicle modified using this method, such as: side filling point, VNG cylinder located on the bottom of the vehicle, electronic VNG injection system that interacts with the multiplexed communication network of the vehicle, fuse box with dedicated application for protecting the electronic VNG injection system, among others mentioned above.
