The invention relates to a brewing machine (1) into which a single serve capsule (2) containing a brewing material can be inserted to produce a hot brewed beverage. The brewing machine (1) contains a heatable pressure chamber/boiler (3) for receiving water, a brewing chamber (4) for receiving the single serve capsule (2), a fluid connection (5) between the pressure chamber (3) and the brewing chamber (4), a first piercing or slitting means (7) for piercing or slitting open the single serve capsule (2) inserted into the brewing chamber at a first capsule location (K01) on the capsule surface, and a second piercing or slitting means (8) for piercing or slitting open the single serve capsule (2) inserted into the brewing chamber at a second capsule location (K02) on the capsule surface. Hot water and/or hot steam generated in the pressure chamber (3) can flow through the single serve capsule (2) inserted into the brewing chamber (4) from the first capsule location (K01) to the second capsule location (K02) of the single serve capsule (2) in order to obtain a hot brewed beverage which exits from the second capsule location (K02) and can flow into the second chamber (K2). According to the invention, there is a temperature control chamber (TK) in the fluid connection (5) between the pressure chamber (3) and the brewing chamber (4).
