This disclosure describes a device, system, and method for using extensional rheology measurements to predict a flammability related property of a material, such as a flame retardant polycarbonate resin. For example, a method of generating a prediction associated with a flammability related property of a material includes determining a set of data values based on image data corresponding to a sample of the material under test. The set of data values are associated with a characteristic of the sample. The method also includes determining, based on the set of data values, an extensional viscosity value associated with the material, and generating the prediction based on a result of a comparison between the extensional viscosity and a threshold. In some implementation, the flammability related property includes an anti-drip property.
