A material line following robot for production and manufacturing, comprising a threaded rod (2), an annular side surface of the threaded rod (2) being connected to a moving seat (20) by means of a ball nut pair, the upper end of the moving seat (20) being fixedly connected to a gantry frame (12), a right-angled bent plate (13) and a separator (3), a second electric push rod (15) being welded to an inner front wall of the gantry frame (12), a telescopic end of the second electric push rod (15) being fixedly connected to a first push plate (11), a material gripping mechanism (14) being fixedly mounted on a right side wall of the right-angled bent plate (13), a weight sensor (6) being mounted on the upper surface of the moving seat (20), and a first electric push rod (7) and a second push plate (16) being embedded in a right wall of the gantry frame (12).
