[Problem] To provide an object situation assessment system, object situation assessment method, and program, with which it is possible to perform learning efficiently while avoiding the time and effort involved in preparing a large number of images, and with which it is possible to estimate the situation of an object within a new image, based on the learning results. [Solution] The object situation assessment system comprises: a constituent element analysis module 111 which extracts characteristic points from within the image in order to analyze constituent elements pertaining to at least two of: the object captured in the acquired image, the orientation, shape, direction and expression of the object, the type and location of the part of the object, and the background of the captured image; a situation acquisition module 112 which acquires situation data indicating the situation of the object, from an image retrieval computer that acquires characters and retrieves images related to those characters; a learning module 113 which learns the combination of constituent elements and the acquired situation data in association with one another; and an object situation estimation module 114 which estimates the situation of the object on the basis of the learning results of situation data if the analysis results of a predetermined image by the constituent element analysis module 11 are the same as or similar to the combination of constituent elements.
