A method for determining a reasonable design region of roots pump rotor profiles and a use thereof. The method establishes a relation between roots pump rotor profiles and performance parameters, and then further determines constraint conditions for avoiding a closed volume and undercutting, thereby determining a reasonable design region of roots pump rotor blade peak curves and providing a reference for designing roots pump rotor profiles, namely that a rotor profile whose blade peak curve is not in the reasonable design region will inevitably cause the problem of closed volume or undercutting. Therefore, rotor profiles that would cause the problem of closed volume or undercutting are avoided when designing roots pump rotor profiles, and unreasonable rotor profile designs can be discovered before design completion, thus improving the design efficiency of rotor profiles.
