Provided is a method for preparing a spherical or angular powder filler, comprising spherical or angular siloxane in T-unit, wherein T-unit=R1SiO3-, and R1 is a hydrogen atom or an organic group that can be independently selected from 1 to 18 carbon atoms; under a vacuum or inert gas atmosphere condition, performing thermal treatment on the spherical or angular siloxane, and a thermal treatment temperature being 250°C or above to 750°C or below, so that silicon hydroxyl in the spherical or angular siloxane is subjected to condensation, thereby obtaining condensed siloxane, and finally obtaining the spherical or angular powder filler. Further provided are a spherical or angular powder filler obtained according to the preparation method and an application of the spherical or angular powder filler. The filler has a low permittivity, a low dielectric loss, no conducting impurity, no coarse particle, and a low radioactivity.
