The present invention relates to a cartridge for an electronic tap that includes a handle or controller with an extended operative range of motion, which allows the control or handle to be moved beyond its normal range of motion determined by a first limiter, the extended areas being provided with extra functionalities by means of a control system that determines the position of the handle so as to associate said position with a flow volume, a fluid mixing ratio value and/or an additional functionality. The invention also relates to a tap including the cartridge with a handle having an extended operative range of motion, and to its operating method.
