The absorption device (2A) comprises a hydrophilic powder (4) and a casing (4) which is permeable to a liquid, the casing (4) being composed of an upper layer (8) which is superimposed on a lower layer (10), the lower and upper layers being connected to each other by strong connections (12) which delimit a confinement zone (14) for the hydrophilic powder (4) in the casing (4). Advantageously, the lower and upper layers are connected to each other by means of first weak connections (16). The first weak connections (16) delimit a plurality of adjacent cells (18) in the confinement zone (14), each cell (18) enclosing a quantity of hydrophilic powder (4) sufficient to bring about the breakage of the first weak connections (16) which delimit the cell (18) when the hydrophilic powder (4) absorbs a liquid.
