The invention specifies a heating, ventilating and/or air-conditioning device (10), having a system control means and an electric heating device (12), which comprises at least one electric heating unit (14), a fan (27), a regulating unit (36) for adjusting a heating output from the at least one electric heating unit (14), and at least one flow channel (18), which opens out into the vehicle interior, wherein the flow channel (18) contains at least one adjustable flap (22), by means of which a flow cross section of the at least one flow channel (18) can be adjusted, and wherein in each case a maximum- admissible heating output for heating the vehicle interior is stored in the system control means for different operating states, wherein the maximum-admissible heating output is dependent on at least two of the following operating parameters: - an entry temperature (38) of an air stream flowing through the electric heating unit, - a rotational speed (40) of the fan (27), and - a position (42) of the at least one adjustable flap (22). The invention also specifies a method for operating a heating, ventilating and/or air-conditioning device (10).
