Disclosed are a semi-conductive shielding material for a high voltage cable, and a preparation method and a use thereof. Disclosed in particular, is a semi-conductive shielding material for, e.g. a high voltage 220 kV AC cable, the raw materials thereof comprising a resin substrate, a modified graphene having a particular structure, a conductive carbon black, an anti-oxidant and a cross-linking agent, and optionally comprising a dispersing agent, with the modified graphene being dosed in an amount of 0.1% to 10% of the raw materials. The preparation method comprises first preparing the modified graphene having a particular structure, then mixing the same with the rest of the raw materials to prepare the semi-conducive shielding material for an AC cable, and can be used for a 220 kV high voltage cable. The present invention increases characteristics of conductivity and surface smoothness of the shielding material, homogenizes an insulation electric field, enhances safety in power transmission, and can achieve high conductivity in the shielding material with a low amounts of graphene.
