Disclosed is a method for providing special text included in an electronic document for the visually impaired. The method for providing special text may comprise: a step of outputting an outline of the special text through a braille input/output unit on the basis of outline information on the special text; and a step of, when a touch event for at least one area from among a plurality of areas in the output outline occurs, outputting text corresponding to the at least one area.
