The present invention relates to a biomarker for diagnosing or predicting prognosis of cholangiocarcinoma, and a use thereof. It has been confirmed that TGFBI mRNA is highly expressed in cholangiocarcinoma tissues, TGFBI protein is specifically expressed in cholangiocarcinoma cell lines, the content of soluble TGFBI protein is high in whole blood of patients with cholangiocarcinoma, and gene database analysis with prognostic information has confirmed that the prognosis is poor for cholangiocarcinoma patients with high expression of TGFBI gene. Therefore, the TGFBI may be advantageously used as a biomarker for diagnosing or predicting the prognosis of cholangiocarcinoma.
