The present invention relates to a main driving device for a stacker crane, wherein a structure for linearly moving a main body frame through a gear tooth engagement structure using a driving pulley and a timing belt is applied instead of a structure for linearly moving the main body frame by driving a moving roller like in the conventional technology, thereby accurately controlling a movement position of the main body frame regardless of the slip phenomenon of the moving roller. Therefore, the stacker crane can be stably operated even when an indoor environment of a distribution warehouse is poor. By applying the gear tooth engagement structure using the driving pulley and the timing belt, unlike general rollers, mutual slippage is prevented between the driving pulley and the timing belt, thereby always moving the main body frame to a correct position in proportion to the amount of rotation of the driving pulley by a driving unit.
