The present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating nerve damage disorders comprising glucose-related protein 75 (Grp75) as an active component. It is confirmed that overexpression of Grp75 activates the movement of calcium from vesicles to mitochondria, thereby causing increased production of energy that is basically required for nerve regeneration, and also it is confirmed that overexpression of Grp75 promotes nerve regeneration in cell culture. Accordingly, it is expected that Grp75 can be usefully utilized in the development of therapeutic agents for injuries to central nervous system and peripheral nervous system.
