EGR Apparatus for controlling the Opening of Valve of the Gasoline EGR system and the Method thereof

The present invention relates to a valve opening control apparatus and method of a gasoline exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the valve opening control apparatus comprises: a gasoline engine generating a driving force by combustion; an intake line inducing an intake gas into a combustion chamber of the gasoline engine; an exhaust line discharging an exhaust gas from the combustion chamber; a recirculation line branching off from the exhaust line to be connected to the intake line; an EGR cooler positioned on the recirculation line to cool the exhaust gas induced into the intake line; an EGR valve configured to control an amount of the exhaust gas induced into the intake line; an EM filter positioned at one end of the EGR valve; and a flow rate control device configured to control an opening degree of the EGR valve as the EM filter is blocked. The present invention can maintain high gas mileage of a vehicle even when the EM filter is blocked.
