Articles Including Expanded TPU and Waterborne Coatings

The present invention relates to articles comprising expanded thermoplastic polyurethane as a substrate and a specific polyurethane urea coating on the substrate, as well as footwear, methods of making the article, and the use of polyurethane urea dispersions / solutions. Polyurethane urea coatings comprising polycarbonate structural units have been found to bond strongly to the expanded TPU substrate and maintain the inherent properties of the expanded TPU.
