The present invention relates to: a pharmaceutical composition and a health functional food composition for preventing or treating liver diseases containing a mixed fermentation product of Gastrodia elata and cicada larva as an active component; and a method for manufacturing the mixed fermentation product of Gastrodia elata and cicada larva for improving liver functions. The mixed fermentation product of Gastrodia elata and cicada larva of the present invention rapidly decreases alcohol in the blood while reducing the activity of alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), thereby being able to be very usefully used as health functional food for preventing and alleviating liver diseases.
