Systems, apparatus, and methods are provided for determining when an athlete occupies a ball by analyzing image data. The camera is worn by the athlete and is turned on when the athlete is within proximity of the ball. The camera is used to create an image of the ball. The size of the ball is determined and compared to the threshold. When the size of the image exceeds the threshold, the athlete is considered to occupy the ball.
