The present invention relates to transformed methanotrophic bacteria for producing 4-hydroxybutyric acid, in which activities of two or more enzymes are enhanced compared to inherent activities thereof, the two or more enzymes being selected from the group consisting of CoA-dependent succinate semialdehyde dehydrogenase, 4-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase, NADPH-dependent succinate semialdehyde reductase, and succinate semialdehyde dehydrogenase. In addition, the present invention relates to a method of producing 4-hydroxybutyric acid by using the transformed methanotrophic bacteria, and to a composition for producing 4-hydroxybutyric acid, comprising the transformed methanotrophic bacteria. The transformed methanotrophic bacteria of the present invention is capable of producing 4-hydroxybutyric acid with a high yield from C1 carbon sources, and thus can be beneficially used in an eco-friendly and economical manner in high-throughput production of 4-hydroxybutyric acid.
