According to the present invention, in a sleep deprivation animal model, saponarin provides effects of restoring a moving distance, a moving time, a moving frequency, and a dead time to a normal level and increasing mRNA expression of neuropeptide Y, cholecystokinin, and GABA α1 receptor to mitigate sleep disturbance, thereby being usefully used as a health functional food or medical material for preventing, mitigating, or treating the sleep disturbance.
