The present invention relates to an apparatus for detecting and defending a spy drone which detects a communication frequency band between the spy drone and a controller to disturb communications to defend invasion of the spy drone and a method thereof. According to the present invention, the apparatus for detecting and defending the spy drone comprises: one or more antennas; one or more wireless communication units connected to the antennas to detect and receive a first wireless signal between the spy drone and the controller controlling the spy drone and transmit a second wireless signal; and a control unit analyzing the waveform of the first wireless signal received through the wireless communication unit to detect the communication frequency band between the spy drone and the controller and controlling the wireless communication unit to transmit the second wireless signal for disturbing the communications between the spy drone and the controller within the detected frequency band.
