The present invention relates to a composition for inhibiting sebum secretion comprising an extract of Rhus semialata M. fruits. According to the present invention, the composition including the extract of the Rhus semialata M. fruits inhibits differentiation of sebum cells to inhibit excessive sebum secretion, thereby providing an effect of preventing, mitigating, or treating pore expansion or seborrheic dermatitis caused by sebum. Moreover, the composition does not provide skin irritation and cytotoxicity and is effective to inhibit sebum secretion while providing excellent stability for a human body, thereby being safely used as an active ingredient of a cosmetic or pharmaceutical composition for preventing, mitigating, or treating pore expansion or seborrheic dermatitis.
