The present invention relates to a patent analysis system for setting the direction of research and development (R&D) work through patent document analysis, and a patent analysis method using the same, and more particularly, to a patent analysis system which comprises a data collection unit, a data preprocessing unit, a key patent analysis unit, and a key patent evaluation unit, and to a patent analysis method performed by the patent analysis system. The patent analysis method using an analysis algorithm for determining an R&D priority comprises: a step (S10) of extracting patent raw data with respect to a keyword from a patent document through a search engine; a filtering step (S20) of removing noise from the extracted patent raw data; a step (S30) of constructing a database for quantitative analysis from the filtered patent data; a step (S40) of extracting a standard patent which is the standard of a technology from the database using a classification algorithm; a step (S50) of deriving a key patent by analyzing the standard patent; and a step (S60) of setting a direction of an R&D based on the key patent. According to the present invention, an analysis result which can be intuitively and easily confirmed as basic data of setting a direction of R&D can be effectively provided.
