Support cushion comprising a pocketed coil layer having a plurality of fabric types for directing air flow, and a method for controlling the surface temperature thereof

A support cushion 10 is provided for providing air flow to a user sitting on the support cushion. The support cushion includes a pocketed coil layer 40 and a base layer 30 positioned adjacent to and below the pocketed coil layer. The pocketed coil layer includes a plurality of fabric types for directing the airflow. A fan 50 is operatively connected to the inlet hole of the base layer to provide air flow to the body support layer through the pocketed coil layer and into the pocketed coil layer. A method of controlling air flow through the support cushion is also provided.
