The present invention is ginger ( ZingiberIt relates to an antithrombotic composition containing the leaf extract of officinale as an active ingredient, and more particularly, to inhibit blood coagulation containing the selected ginger leaves washed with water, and the ginger leaf extract prepared therefrom as an active ingredient. And pharmaceutical compositions and health functional foods for the prevention or treatment / improvement of thrombosis through platelet aggregation inhibition. Ginger leaf extract as an active ingredient of the pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating thrombosis of the present invention and health functional food exhibits potent antithrombotic activity by inhibition of enzymes related to thrombus formation, inhibition of blood coagulation factor and inhibition of human platelet aggregation in a concentration-dependent manner. At the same time, it shows no hemolytic activity against human erythrocytes, excellent thermal stability, and no loss of inhibitory effect of blood clotting enzymes and coagulation factor in acidic conditions and plasma of pH 2, thus improving ischemic stroke through blood circulation improvement.
