D HIGH EFFICIENCY VOLTAGE MODE CLASS D TOPOLOGY

A high efficiency voltage mode class D amplifier and energy transfer system are provided. The amplifier and system comprise a pair of transistors connected in series between a voltage source and a ground connection. In addition, a lamp current tank circuit is connected in parallel to one of the pair of transistors, and a resonant tuned load circuit is connected to the lamp current tank circuit. The lamp current tank circuit may include an inductor that absorbs the output capacitance C _OSS of the pair of transistors and a capacitor that provides DC blocking.
