Disclosed are a system for managing the illumination of an IR camera having an illuminance sensor using an illumination map in a subway station, and a method thereof. The system comprises: a camera having an illuminance sensor installed in each area of a subway station; a DB server storing an illuminance value of the illuminance sensor of each camera therein; a 3D server having a 3D renderer which displays a background image and objects of POI on a 3D map screen of the subway station, provides an illuminance map for displaying the illuminance value of the illuminance sensor of each camera when a lighting menu is selected, displays the distribution of the illuminance map, and displays, on the illuminance map, a visual illuminance state, of a light, including the illuminance value, and an ON/OFF state of the light in a camera region of a corresponding area, when a specific illuminance map icon is clicked; and a control PC having a 3D client for displaying the illuminance value of the illuminance sensor of each camera on the illuminance map on the 3D map screen of the subway station.
