According to an embodiment of the present invention, disclosed are a system for transmitting building information modeling (BIM) data using a blockchain technology and a method thereof. The system for transmitting BIM data comprises: a relay server configured to generate a distribution list for the distributed storage of a plurality of received block data when the plurality of block data constituting Industrial foundation classes (IFC) data are received and transmit the plurality of block data based on the generated distribution list; and a plurality of node servers receiving at least one block data among the plurality of block data and storing the received block data.
