The present invention is to provide a method and apparatus for obtaining the absorption profile of molecular resonance with ANSOM. The method includes setting the reference field phase to φ = 0.5π and the reference amplitude to A ≥ 5|α eff | for the near field. The requirement for phase accuracy is identified as 0.3π. The device includes a phase stabilization mechanism in addition to ANSOM to maintain high phase accuracy homodyne phase conditions of 0.1 rad or less. This method allows ANSOM to perform vibrational spectroscopy at nanoscale spatial resolution.
