The vehicle''s finite element analysis (FEA) model and solid wall specifications are received. This FEA model includes a number of nodes connected by finite elements organized into groups. Each of these rigid walls includes one or more segments corresponding to the installed load cells. The purpose of the groups desired to have a detailed solid wall force (RWF) sum is defined by the user. In the FEA model, a contribution weighting factor is calculated for each node. A time march simulation of a vehicle colliding with a solid wall is performed. In each solution cycle, the node''s force contribution for each node is calculated according to the node type. The calculated node force contribution, modified with the contribution weighting factor, is accumulated in the detailed RWF sum under each of the groups and segments. The complete detailed RWF sum is presented.
