The device relates to the field of hydraulic engineering and can be used if it is necessary to improve the stress-strain state of the arch-gravity dam. The proposal includes changing the transverse profile of the dam with a monolithic concrete tide device from the downstream side (Fig. 1). The concrete tide device allows you to get an additional moment M, which increases the compression of the upper face. The need for such a tide device may arise in the event of the appearance of unacceptable tensile stresses on the upper edge of the dam, as well as on the dam-base contact (Fig. 1) and, as a result, the appearance of longitudinal and transverse cracks. This may be due to design errors as well as to the long life of the hydraulic system (a change over time in the physical and mechanical properties of the foundation and body of the dam). This solution for the device is especially relevant in the case of impossibility to discharge the reservoir.
