FIELD: measurement technology.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technique of investigation of deformation-strength properties of materials, mainly of vegetal origin. Installation for testing specimens for uniaxial compression of materials, primarily of plant origin, comprises a fixed housing with two oppositely located supports with support surfaces transverse to the compression line for attachment of the analysed sample between them, each support has a centrally located relative to the compression line of the retainer of the analysed sample with a part protruding in front of the supporting surface, at least one of the supports is movable and connected to the drive of its movement along the compression line, as well as a device for measuring current values of deformation-strength characteristics of compression. At that, the installation has limit stop of supports and the protruding part of the sample retainer of each support is made in the form of a needle the axis of which is directed along the compression line, and the length of its protruding part is 0.05–0.30 of the sample diameter. Needle can be made with thin-wall radial ribs to the compression line, have a shank installed in the support and be detachable. Each needle can be installed with the possibility of displacement along the compression line by its reclining in the support channel or being its part of the insert, and its tail is elastically pressed in the support with force exceeding in the compression direction axial force on the needle on the side of the destructed sample.;EFFECT: technical result of proposed invention consists in improvement of accuracy of results of deformation-strength tests for compression of samples of materials.;4 cl, 4 dwg
