摘要

Tribological properties, load-carrying capacity and mechanical properties of bulk materials and coatings (topocomposites) are considered based on the test data obtained when rubbing the crossed cylindrical specimens. The design of a test apparatus and procedure are described for testing at gradual increase of contact load. It is shown that different modes of surface interaction including sliding, rolling with slip, rolling, and compression are feasible at point and linear contacts.
