FIELD: hydroacoustic communication.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to apparatus and methods for hydroacoustic communication between self-contained underwater vehicles (UV). Solved technical problem is improvement of hydroacoustic communication between underwater vehicles. Said technical result is achieved by the fact that on UV, in addition to non-directional radiating antenna of hydroacoustic communication, directional receiving-emitting antenna of hydroacoustic communication (or separate directed receiving and radiating antennas) is installed. Since coordinates of UV, which need to transmit a message, before entering into communication are not known, then request for message transmission is transmitted using non-directional radiating antenna. Receiving a request for transmission, acknowledgment of readiness to receive a message and transmission of the message itself are carried out using a directed receiving-emitting antenna.;EFFECT: increased range and stealthiness of hydroacoustic communication.;1 cl, 2 dwg, 1 tbl
