METHOD OF STUDYING PROPERTIES OF PROTECTIVE COATINGS IN A STREAM OF SEA WATER AND AN APPARATUS FOR CARRYING OUT SAID METHOD

FIELD: measurement.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of investigating properties of protective coatings on substrates exposed to marine environment, specifically methods of assessing anti-fouling and anticorrosive coatings of underwater part of hull, as well as to installations for their implementation. Method comprises evaluating the properties of protective coatings and changing them during use using the electrical resistance of the coating as the main characteristic thereof, wherein navigation conditions for different sections of the underwater part of the ship are simulated by adjusting the speed of said streams with the help of a test chamber in the form of a ring-shaped vessel with a variable cross-section, in which the tested samples are placed. Cross-section of annular tank is designed so that speed of flow of tested samples by sea water flow passed through test chamber corresponds completely to speed of underwater part of ship hull underwater part of sea hull under navigational conditions chosen for investigation. In addition to the test chamber, the plant comprises a water passage for flowing sea water with valves for supply and discharge, a drainage discharge pipe; unit of sea water underwater water intake with pump station and is equipped with cruise propeller connected with electric motor and control unit.;EFFECT: technical result consists in simplification of method and reduction of time spent for its implementation, due to simulation of navigation conditions for different investigated hull sections simultaneously, in one working volume; simplification of installation for method implementation, provision of all-year-round investigations.;2 cl, 2 dwg
