A system (100; 300) for conditioning the environment of a driver assistance camera (340) of a vehicle, comprising: a camera (340) mounted in a housing (102), the housing (102) being adapted to be attached to a window of the vehicle; a temperature sensor (330) mounted in the housing (102); a fan (124; 310) connected to the housing (102) forcibly directing an airflow (116) through the housing (102) to condition the environment; and an electronic control unit (320) for controlling activation of the fan (124; 310), wherein the electronic control unit (320) is connected and arranged with the temperature sensor (330), - sensing a temperature within the housing (102) by means of the temperature sensor (330) and providing a signal indicative thereof; to compare the sensed temperature signal with at least one threshold; and to activate the fan (124; 310) based on the comparison.
