The present development relates to a reinforcing plate (10) for a B-pillar (6) of a motor vehicle body (2) with an elongated sheet metal body (11), which: - at an upper longitudinal end (12), a head part (14) for connection to a roof structure (4) the motor vehicle body (2), - at an opposite lower longitudinal end (16) has a foot part (18) for connection to a side sill (9) and which- has a central part (15) which extends between the foot part (18 ) and the head part (14), - wherein the foot part (18) with respect to a vehicle longitudinal direction (x) has a width B which is at most 2.5 times the width D of the central part (15) and wherein the foot part ( 18) with respect to the vehicle longitudinal direction (x) is configured asymmetrically.
